Mediocre Food and Inconsiderate Service, Not Kid Friendly. We arrived at 5:30 p.m. and it felt like the staff wasn't ready for customers. It was uncomfortably hot and stuffy

Bland. I'll never understand why this restaurant is always packed. My family orders take out from here at least once a week and every dish I've tried has been so bland that I don't even care to finish it. Everything is covered in so much oil/sauce that literally everything on the menu tastes the same. There are just so many better options in this city.

Excellent, No Better than that!. I am in Salt Lake on business, Had lunch at "East-West Connection"...parking leaves a little to be desired, but once inside all was well. I was in Bangkok, Thailand Last Week and the food here was better! It was excellent! All I can say is get the #8, spend an extra $2 and add the Shrimp, a glass of "there" Tea, and enjoy! It was the very best this old Marine has ever had bar none! Trust me, the #8+ shrimp and you will enjoy!

Awful..... Our waiter was VERY impatient with us and not friendly with all. If only that was our only issue!!!! When the chicken fried rice came out, it tasted like the great salt lake (honestly, the saltiest thing i had ever had). We politely told the waiter it didn't taste good and he didn't offer to replace it or anything. We had to beg him to take it back. The other dishes were ok, but the waiter didn't ONCE come back to check on us or offer us refills. Once we were done eating, a different waiter noticed we were being ignored and was nice enough to ask us how things were and if we needed refills. It's sad that one waiter could ruin our opinion of this restaurant, but unfortunately that's the case! Avoid the young waiter with glasses at all costs!!!!

Fresh and delicious. We've been to East West connection several times now and it continues to impress me. The Owners and staff are friendly and helpful and the food is always wonderful. They use fresh ingredients and light sauces - nothing is covered with "goupy" brown sauce. The restaurant is always clean and welcoming. We need to go there more often.

great food. this is a great resturant to order take-out from, grab a light lunch, or enjoy a relaxed dinner. The food is light and not too exotic so even if you are not a fan of usual vietnamese or oriental fare, you may enjoy the safe yet delicous tastes of East-west Connection. All the dishes are wonderful and are pretty much served family style so if your with friends you can share around. I reccomend the South Sea Pork or the Lemongrass chicken with spring rolls as an appetizer, these are simple yet delectable dishes that can staisfy almost any tastebuds. The parking is always a pain but overall this charming little resturant has ambience and great food. A good bet for families with kids.

Not Vietnamese. This is not Vietnamese or Chinese or even American versions of any oriental food. Boring menu and nothing really outstanding. I know Vietnamese food and this is not Vitnamese.

Take a step up in atmosphere from Salt Lake's other Vietnamese noodle houses.. The Scene
You almost forget you're in Foothill Village after sitting down in this second-floor spot in the quiet southern corner of the outdoor mall. The atmosphere is a bit more formal than many Asian restaurants, but still relaxed enough to make one feel comfortable.

The Food
For a starter, try the pot stickers--they're not traditional, but everybody loves them. East-West's version have a lighter skin than most and a mild pork filling. Top entree choices include either the East-West chicken or beef--garlic-marinated meat stir-fried with broccoli, bamboo shoots, mushrooms and other green vegetables. Simmered prawns are another specialty, cooked in a slightly sweet orange-flavored sauce. Vegetarians have plenty to choose from, including six tofu dishes. For the less adventurous, there are the usual sweet-and-sour items, along with fried rice and wonton soup.

My Favorite. East-West Connection is my favorite restaurant in Salt Lake City. It makes my nose happy just to walk by it. The food is wonderful, the owners are very nice. Parking is terrible (unless you know that there is a subsurface ramp and use it) and service can be a little slow sometimes, but the Mytho Maloney soup is pure heaven.

Love it. I love the food. The service could be much better.

My favorite Vietnamese restaurant, though the decor is ..... lets say is not there....

But the food: great, and it is why it's my favorite.
