Wonderful!. We have eaten here many times--even with our kids, and while it isn't a 'kid' restaurant the servers have always been wonderful about helping us with the little ones. The food is wonderful, the CTM is one of my favorites anywhere, but the lamb dishes are just fastastic. The setting is beautiful and we always enjoy ourselves when we go.
best Indian Cuisine in Salt Lake. What a great place to come eat! I've only tried Indian Cuisine a couple of times but this is the best Indian food that I've eaten. The service was great, we were able to take our time. I will continue come back and will recommend it to everyone
My first taste of Indian food--and I loved it!. We didn't have reservations on a Friday night-our mistake. It was a thirty minute wait for a party of seven. Not too bad considering how good the food was and how busy the restaurant was! We all tried different dishes and it was delicious. The only exception was the chicken tikki--it was quite dry. Service was a little off, we had to ask twice to get refills of our water. The beer list is also too short and they were out of three of them. I'll definitely go back.
Best Indian Food in the State!. I always enjoy going here. The food is always wonderful and the service is great. They are always have some pretty funny jokes. Try everything it's all good. I always take people here when visiting from out of town. The place is decorating wonderfully.
Good food but dodgy customer service. I concur with the reviewer below me. These folks are prejudiced against other South Asians. It's rather humorous really. I am Indian. I went there with my wife and they never acknowledged me, instead choosing to converse and take the order from my wife (she is half white & japanese). However, we did enjoy the food though, I would recommend the chicken tikka masala and naan.
Best Indian Food in Utah.
My boyfriend and I love Indian Food. So when we discovered the Bombay House a few years ago, we knew we would be frequent customers. Their Indian dishes are all very flavorful and unique. Their Garlic Naan bread is to die for. I could just eat that for a meal. Very cool ambience. They used to have a better building though - but it was too small so they moved. This is a restaurant that people like Mayor Rocky Anderson frequent. (We saw him there once, and the waiter said he came in often.)
The only drawbacks - on the weekend, you could have up to a 75 minute wait. They have a small staff, so things move slowly there. The wait takes a long time, your food takes a long time, your bill takes a long time. But if you are an Indian Food person - it is worth every minute of the wait.
Best Indian Food ever!. They have some of the best Indian food I have ever had, and I don't even really like Indian food. The service was great and I will def be back again and again!
Yum! Yum!. This place is amazing. My husband and I just live down the street and wonder why we don't visit this place more. The food is FANTASTIC and full or such wonderful flavors. I have to say this is one of my top 5 favorite restaurants in the city. I love their "new" location. The dark warm colors make the place feel so cozy and inviting. The times that we have gone the service has been very slow but worth the wait. I could say more but you have to experience for yourself and just know that you won't leave disappointed.
Terrific food.
This is a fabulous Indian restaurant, being a Brit I was brought up on Indian food and this is as good as it gets, but be prepared to wait a while to sit down as the place is always packed, but it has a good buzz. The service staff are friendly and polite if somewhat harrassed at times. But this doesn't bother me as the food is worth the wait. I had one experience where they were so busy they forgot to deliver the appetisers, but made amends by not charging for the bottle of wine we had and giving us a free appetiser next visit - knowing that they are prepared to remedy service that falls short of expectations is a solid plus.
The only thing that really gets me about this place is that there is a wonderful bar area in the middle of the restaurant (a legacy from the prior occupant) that is not used. Why not put it into service? It would make the wait much more tolerable (at least for those of us in SLC that partake of alcoholic beverages)
In my experience this is one of the best Indian restaurants in the US, and it has a broad range of vegetarian options as well as the traditional meat dishes.
Just writing this makes my mouth water - I guess I'll have to go back there soon. Enjoy!
Terrible food and service. I'm Indian, and have eaten Indian food for more than 25 years. The food at this place is very americanized. I'm not just talking about the level of hotness or spiciness. The taste in general is bad. The service is also variable depending on the color of your skin. If you are Indian, they don't like you. If you are white, you may get good service. I have heard the same comment from several of my friends, both Indian and Caucasian. If you want good Indian food in Salt Lake City, go elsewhere. There are better Indian restaurants in SLC with good food and service. I will not list them here on this page, as that would be bad manners.
