Poor customer service and honesty. I had Dun-rite blinds install shutters in my home a few years ago and was pleased at the time. When I bought the shutters they told me that they came with a life-time warranty for as long as I was the home owner. I called later to buy shutters for my side-lights and was told that they no longer do shutters. At that time I told them that I was concerned because I was told that I had a life-time warranty. I said I was concerned now that they no longer sale shutters. I was told not to worry and that they would always take care of any repairs that I needed. Now fast-forwarding to today when I called to ask a couple simple questions. I first explained how I had a simple issue with my tension screws on some of my shutters and that no longer stay open and the screws do not tighten. I explained how I was told that I had a life-time warranty for as long as I owned my home. The man I was talking to basically laughed at me and said, “You tell me one thing that has a life-time warranty, even a car made out of steel doesn’t have a life-time warranty!” I was so taken back. I simply explained that’s what I was told and he began to be extremely rude to me. He told me to find my paperwork. At that point I explained to him that when we purchased the shutters that I had called and asked for my paperwork 3 different times and could never get anyone to even give me a receipt. One of their secretaries at the time told me how sorry she was that she had asked many times for me. She said that they were great at taking care of their customers but horrible at paperwork. I never could get a receipt from them and in turn have shutters that don’t work and they are not about to take care or help with any of it. I called with a simple and nicely inquired what I could do. In turn I was treated so terrible and rude I almost couldn’t believe it. I explained to him with the experience I was having that I wouldn’t recommend them to a friend. At that point he hung-up on me. This is a whole switch and bait with customer service and warranty. I feel like they tell you whatever to get you to buy from them and in turn don’t follow through with anything they tell you. I have never been treated so badly especially by someone I was being nice and cordial to. It was a bit odd. I called my neighbor (who had also purchased shutters at the same time) right after my experience and she had the same issues with her shutters and customer service. Blinds or shutters I would never deal with this company again. It is frustrating that we spent thousands of dollars with them to be treated this way. I would not recommend someone to do business or spending their hard earned money with Dun-rite .
