Editorial Review for Chinese Gourmet – by Leslie N. Vreeland
The Scene
A cavernous, spanking-clean cafeteria lined with long tables and comfy booths. On weekends, you'll likely wait in line to pay. Other times, you can be seated right away. A waiter takes your drinks order (included in the price of a meal), and you hit the buffet: Mongolian barbecue, traditional dishes, an enormous salad bar, a dessert bar. It's all-you-can-eat, and it's all impeccably fresh.
The Food
Surprisingly sophisticated flavors. Avoid the gooey, deep-fried sesame and General Tso's chicken and stick with lighter, tastier fare such as roast pork with Chinese vegetables, shrimp chow mein, vegetable lo mein and Happy Family. The egg foo young, served piping hot, is outstanding. Or create your own Mongolian barbecue with fresh vegetables and beef, pork, chicken or shrimp.

While its nice to have a bufffet style of food, sometimes quality is better than quantity. Depending on the day of the week and the type of food served will depend alot on how you experience this place. The food quite often has been sitting for long periods, and often is under cooked. Frequently some dishes like the vegtables are sour tasting. The food of edible. Although if other options are available, take them. The staff seem to be poor english speakers and irritated that they have to assist you. The best part is the mongolian BBQ section as you can at least be sure your getting somewhat fresh food. Not recommended if possible to avoid, do so.
Pros: Mongolian BBQ
Cons: Everything else! Mangement does not seem to care about customers needs!

I have gone to the Chinese Gourmet alot of times, and some times are better then others. So times you get seated right away and other times it take time. The food is ok, some days are better then other days. I do think they over charge for kids though. I think kids under 3 should be free. The bathrooms are not always clean. The servers have much to be desired. There again some are better then others.
Pros: food is good most of the time,
Cons: customer service and parking are not that great
