yuck. Oh my. Steak fajitas. BIG mistake. very long night ahead. Charged another .99 for more salsa (1/4 cup at best). Very dry (old?) shredded pork enchilada. Minimal cheese, lots of dry inedible meat.

Stay away!

awesome food and drinks. So Tres Hombres is not the cheapest mexican joint in town, i still think it's the best! There drinks are literally award winning, the servers are fast and friendly. I have a great time the couple times o' year i go in. love it!

Great salsa and blended drinks.. I love the salsa and the blended drinks are out of this world but after really enjoying both I find the food just not up to par..not bad but when I am craving good mexican food I tend not to think of this place.

Poor Service, Confused managers, and bad attitudes. This place had the worst service I've ever experienced. We sat down and ordered 3 margaritas (overpriced and not very good). We tried to order desert but the manager said that didn't count as "food". We tried to order other things (tortilla soup-they were out, one taco-sides don't count as 'food' either -btw food is food as stated by utah law people). We ordered chips and cheese, they brought us nachos. We wanted to leave and the bill was wrong- charged for nachos (which we sent back since we didn't order them) and 4 drinks. We sent the bill back 3 times before they actually charged us for the right combination of food/drinks and every time they brought the check back with the wrong food on it the manager got more and more mad- Hello!! You can't get the bill right!! Bottom line-bad service, bad attitudes, overcharged us numerous times, and no one has any idea of Utah state law. Stay away.

Worst Service Ever!. They will hire anyone. This place was one of my favs but the service has gone downhill fast. When I have the guy waiter never a problem and its great. But I have not got him the past few times and I have even got up and left because of waiting for the girl to take my order.

WOW!! Flashback trip to Mazatlan. I have been going to tres hombres for years and ordering the same Seafood Enchiladas (Zacatecas) that are amazing But recently upon the advice of their manager I have been trying several new dishes Including the Carnitas and my new favorite the Appetizer Coctel de Camarones(Shrimp Cocktail) My Great grandmother lives 1 block from the beach in Mazatlan and when this shrimp cocktail was served to me just the sight and smell took me back to Mazatlan! It was garnished with fresh Avocado slices on top and had ton of large fresh gulf shrimp. AWESOME!! Also try their chipotle salsa a littlte hotter than their reg but tasty!

bland food... service made lots of mistakes. The food was very bland. I came here with two friends and we all agreed that the food was lacking any real flavor. We were all seeking salt or something to jazz up the taste even a little bit.. even hot sauce didn't work to increase the flavor.

The serving staff was also lacking. They messed up my friend's order and ended up bringing out 4 plates of food for her. At least they over compensated, but they made themselves look inexperienced as a result.

I won't go back and wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. My quest for good mexican in SLC continues...

Flexible Splendor!. I first went to Tres Hombres when I was a very young child, and have been going ever since! Like many others have said, it has a great atmosphere! Exquisite decor and ambiance! Others have also said how something was too hot, or too cheesy, or too this, or too that. What people don't realize is that not everyone is alike. What you need to do is specify what you want. Waiters are people too, not mind readers! Tell them you don't want a lot of salt on your chips, or you don't want as much cheese on your quesadilla. All you have to do is say a couple of extra words, and the pleasure is all yours! I absolutely adore this restaurant, and the people that work there. The owners work as hard as they can, and they are very involved with their own work. The hostesses are very hospitable, and the waiters are fun-loving. Tres Hombres has been around for about 25 years! As always, their chips and salsa are to die for! Don't forget the heavenly guacamole, awesome chile verde, and the others! Their margaritas and other bar selections are always heavily raved about. Tres Hombres is the right choice for you, if you know how to dine. It is a one-of-a-kind restaurant, and you can be confident in going there! Yes, there are pros and cons to everything, but you will see that these pros skyrocket over the cons! Saddle up your taste buds, kick back your heels, and get ready for an enjoyable meal!

P.S. Just for fun, if you speak Spanish don't be afraid to try some on the staff! Some may not speak Spanish, but the probabilities are they do. !Adios amigos!

Favorite Mexican Food. My favorite (and my family's too) mexican food in the valley- by far. The food is great, the portions are large- maybe the very best chips and salsa, and the service has always been good.

Worst Mexican in the whole valley!. This restaurant looks nice on the outside and inside, and the prices are high enough that you think you're going to get some really tasty Mexican food. Not so. I ordered a cheese enchilada and chile relleno. I didn't think you could do much to ruin this dish, but found out tonight that it is possible. They put about 1/2 pound of cheese on top of the dish, which is way too much for my taste. The chile relleno wasn't actually a chile relleno at all, but a few diced, canned green peppers wrapped in an egg omelet. It was so bad that I only took two bites and couldn't finish it. Keep in mind that I am not a picky eater. All I expected was a whole chile, breaded and fried; that is after all what a chile relleno is.

I would not recommend this restaurant to ANYONE! Terrible food, average service and prices that make you expect food that is actually good.
