Tips for Giant Carpet One Floor & Home

March 05, 2013

Follow the advice of EVERY person that has done business with these dishonest people! They will screw you royally! They do NOT back their installation nor their product. They are after your dollar and they will do NOTHING to maintain your business. These people have no clue what word of mouth does to a business. By the way, I NEVER take the time to write reviews of companies because I am an easy going guy. I advise anybody considering doing business with this company to think again!! I am a Facilities Executive at a major Corporation in SLC and I do business with lots of contractors. I will never, ever do business with these people again!! Don't make the mistake that I (and other first time customers) made. Also, a great way to determine the quality of a company is to see how many return customers they do business with. If I were a betting man I would guess that Carpet One has, virtually no return customers.

awful company! Worse owners!. I worked for these people and have close friend who worked for them too. Not only are they theives, they are liars. The will go back on their word with warranties, payments, and even charge you for things that are not real and pocket the money. Beware of the Carpet Giants AND the regional manager at Prosource. They will cheat you. As for employment, DO NOT work here. Ever. They will take away your bonuses, and even steal your spiffs for sales. Not only that, but they treat their employees with the utmost disrespect and morale is awful because the owner gives all the benefits to his kids whether or not they're employed by the company. Please. Dont support this family. They are awful people and unfortunately this can hurt the employees. Dont trust them and dont get them any richer.

Yes, Avoid. I ordered carpet for my son's room. The day

of my install, they arrived with the WRONG carpet.

It took 2 WEEKS to get the correct carpet in.

When installation day arrived again, the installers

did a sloppy job, and even tried to hide a mistake.

My husband had to beg to get a different installer,

a.k.a, one who knew what he was doing, and finally,

2 weeks later again, the job got done.

Too much of a hastle. No thanks, I will not go back.

Poor Quality Carpet and no warranty. Bought new carpet for my home back in June 2007 for our bedrooms. Carpet has a wear pattern and now I am told the carpet is sold as is with no warranty. Would have never wated $3000.00 on 5 bedrooms had I know that fact.

Called for assistance today just to be told I need to vacuume my carpet everyday not weekly as I do currently and change the traffic direction in the bedrooms.

Buy your carpet elsewhere or pay the price in the near future.

Terrible job. I bought Marmoleum (a beautiful linoleum product) from Carpet One and asked them to install it. They set the installation date. However, the date was changed several times as they had no installers available. In the meantime, my washer and dryer sat out on the back lawn for five days. When the installer finally showed up, it was discovered that the salesman had not ordered enough product for the job. Another delay. Three weeks later I finally raised "cain" and got installers to my house. The job they did was far below professional level. In many places the linoleum doesn't even reach the walls. There are bubbles and the linoleum is not joined at the seam in the doorway. My complaints fell on deaf ears, and there was no reduction in price. I would recommend that anyone needing flooring go somewhere else. I wish I had.

Avoid Carpet Giant like a Giant Plague. Carpet Giant Carpet One signed up to tile and carpet my house for $18,000 I paid them $10,000 down. They would never come and finally after 8 months and only doing a small amount of tile I fired them. I think the installers might not have been trained properly as they didn't put the pan/drain thing in on the shower floors. The tile throughout the home was uneven and very sloppy. I had a hard time finding a tile setter to finish because the work was done so poorly. Anyway about 6 months ago they sent me an intmidation letter from some attorney/collection agency saying I owed them $18,000! I disputed the charges then their corporate headquarters in SLC called and we spoke and they said that it was taken care of so yesterday I got a poorly written letter by some a different attorney /collector called Bradley G. Nykamp from NYKAMP LAW OFFICE, P.C. saying I not only owed the $18,000 but interest of just under $5,000 (I was beside myself) . I think I might sue them as they have been very unprofessional and horrible to do business with I would never use them again! P.S. It appears all Carpet Giant/ Carpet One stores are owned by Western Wholesale Flooring in SLC.
