Editorial Review for Westminster College – by Amy Hodson
Just the Facts
Westminster College was founded as a preparatory school by Utah Presbyterians in 1875. Today, the school is a four-year, private, nondenominational college offering degrees in the arts and sciences. The college is small, with more than 2,000 students enrolled.
Cerebral Pursuits
Westminster offers the typical range of liberal arts programs in philosophy, history, English, sciences and the arts. The college is also well known for its nursing school and the Gore School of Business, both of which offer undergraduate and graduate degrees. Westminster's best academic aspect? The average class size is 15 students.
Extracurricular Activities
On-campus activities are limited, compared to larger state schools. But Westminster's dormitory population is growing and there are often plays, concerts and first-rate lectures to attend. Students stress that what the school lacks for in size, it makes up for in campus camaraderie.
