Editorial Review for Liberty Park – by Peter Behle

Overview
Many festivals take place at Liberty Park, so don't be surprised if you arrive and find a mass of people buying snow cones and hemp jewelry while belly dancers and musicians put on a show. In summer, check out the Sunday drum circle.

The Experience
A lot of people jog around the park's perimeter (about 1.25 miles). The Tracy Aviary is a popular spot, and there are running fountains, a large pond, a swimming pool, a children's garden and concession stands as well. You also can tour the historic Chase house free of charge. There aren't many permanent pavilions, but on the eastern side of the park, you'll see the posts of what used to be a row of such structures.

yes, this is a nice park with lots to do, however my husband and i were very disappointed in the extreme lack of care and attention it has recieved this summer. they spent lots of money refurbishing the park lately and then let it go. trees and shrubs are dead along the north to south center sidewalk and are in desperate need of shaping and pruning. weeds are taking over. the pond was horribly poluted and drawing creatures to it from every direction. i don't understand the effort and money put into a project and then it is left to deteriorate.

I think that this is one of the best parks I have ever been to! I have a 4 year old daughter who loves it! The playground is wonderfule and huge! And the water features are even better. The pond where all of the ducks and seagulls hang out is also great, but bring plenty of bread crumbs! There is even a couple of kiddie rides that are a nice break for the parents. I think that this is a place all families should visit!

Pros: Fun, entertaining
