Kid to Kid on 2100 South offered the WORST customer service I have received in a long time. If you are going to sell something to them, think again. Go elsewhere. I stood around waiting for one of the two workers to look at my clothes I wanted to sell and that took 20 minutes while they both did other things. I then asked how long it would take and they really could have cared less. I packed up all of my stuff and left. HORRIBLE customer service and a waste of time for the $ they are willing to give you.
Best Children's Deals Around!. I am the mother of 6 kids I LOVE KID to KID! I have mostly shopped the Salt Lake and Holladay stores for the past 16 years - since they opened their first store in Sandy. I LOVE this store and I hardly ever shop anywhere else. Why would I want to pay full retail price when I can get the things I need at a fraction of the price? I can find clothes, equipment like car seats and excersaucers, toys, hair bows, dance outfits, swimsuits, gymnastic wear - You name it, they usually have it! I have always been treated with respect and the employees are always helpful in finding what I need. Sometimes I have to call a few stores to find something particular, but it is well worth the savings!
Beware of Customer Service!.
My husband and I just had a terrible experience at the Kid to Kid location in Ogden. We had previously had a good experience at the store in Layton, where we'd bought a used double stroller and asked if we could leave our single stroller, in very good condition, with them. They didn't need it and referred us to the store in Ogden. One of the ladies there looked at it and said she didn't dare take it, because the manager was very picky about strollers and may have an issue with the way the wheels wobbled a bit. I didn't see any wobbling, especially compared to all the other strollers they have in there that we'd been looking at. She said we could leave it there for the manager to inspect it. We said yes, and dumbly signed their paper work since they had our stroller, and that they should let us know if they wanted it and how much they would pay us before anything else was done. The lady assured us that if they happened to want it, they'd let us know and tell us prices so we could decide if we wanted to sell it to them. Well, my husband got a message from them late on Monday, and wasn't able to catch them after business hours. The message was confusing. He called back two days later when he was done with work, and they informed them they'd sold it and put money on our account. The amount they put on there was pitiful- but overall, we could not believe they'd just go ahead and sell our stuff without talking to us first after what we'd verbally agreed on! We went back to the store, where the lady denied everything from our first interaction (verbal) and just told us: you signed the paperwork. Well, there was no amount of money stated on there that we could agree on! So we figure, you sign that you leave your stuff there for them to sell it for whatever amount they please, their verbal promise is worth rubbish, and on top of that, the actual manager was very nasty on the phone and blamed my husband for not checking his messages right away ;) Oh, did I mention? There was another attendant just as nasty as the first one... she said: Do you want to speak to the manager? He'll do nothing for you.
My husband said something to me, and they turned around and accused him of talking to other customers (!??!!?) and that we should leave.
But we were leaving already...I was blown away...
Room to Shop!!. If you haven't been in to this store in awhile give it a shot. Room to shop and a huge selection of toys! The staff is generally friendly and helped to answer my questions. Don't know why you would start your shopping anywhere else. Take in stuff that you don't want anymore and earn some credit to shop with. They buy the stuff while you shop--pretty easy!
Love the expanded store!. This store just expanded and there's so much more stuff! I've always found lots of cute clothes and I love their hair bows. But this time I found some really cute new skinny jeans that look like Miss Me, but only cost $17! I also bought some Spyder snow pants for $70 less than they were at Sports Authority.
Rude, unprofessional customer service. This Kid to Kid location had perhaps the worst customer service I have ever encountered. Two of the employees working today were rude, condescending and absolutely unprofessional. I observed them being rude to other customers as well. After waiting a long time to be helped, I had a few questions about certain items and I was met with absolute disdain (for asking simple questions!) I have to exclude one employee who was very sweet to me but the other two completely ruined the entire experience. The selection of the store is great but unfortunately, I will be taking my business to other locations.
My favorite store for kid's stuff. Great prices, good selection.. I read the other reviews and don't agree. I have six kids and shop this store all the time, both buying and selling. The staff is friendly (I don't think most of them have worked there very long). They don't pay a lot for my things, but it's convenient and that means a lot because I'm busy. Their prices are so low for the things I buy, that I don't mind a relatively low payout for the things I don't need or want anyway, and since I shop here, it makes sense to sell instead of just giving things away. The working class families who purchase things at Kid to Kid (like mine) really appreciate this system of recycling, and the savings on quality products. They have lots of brand new items that are unique, and I shop here for birthday presents for my kids and their friends. It's a nice looking store, and I think they've made some big improvements lately in organization. I'd recommend trying again.
Will never shop here again...
After being treated like something on the bottom of someone's shoe, I can say I will never visit a Kid to Kid again. While dragging a bag of clothes and my two kids with me, we were at first ignorned by all three staff members who were chatting with each other behind the counter for a good 5 minutes, then when I did intrude with an, "Excuse me? Can I ask a few questions..." I was recieved with eye rolls and looks of, " I guess we can help you if we have to."
I was then told that despite all three of them doing absolutely nothing, I would have to choose 30 items from my bag, leave them for 48 hours and someone would call me after they had been priced. I guess on a busy day, a rule like that could make sense, but I had maybe 60 items and didn't see why I couldn't browse and wait for them to price them while I was already there. Not an option I guess. Plus the store was so crowded and cluttered, and the kids area so dirty that I didn't really mind not having to stay.
After 4 days of hearing nothing, I had to call the store and ask if my items were finished, they were. Now I know this is a used clothing store, but I brought in very nice, barely used items, all from either Old Navy or Baby Gap, some still with tags on and was told I would be getting $11.00 for all 30 of them. After the way I was treated and the obvious disorganization of the whole process, I told them, "No thanks." I took all those items back, plus the others they didn't have time for the first day and donated them all to Goodwill for nothing. I would rather a charity have my used things then get a few pennies from haughty girls who I doubt actually even looked at my things. I will never enter this store again and will suggest to anyone I know to steer clear as well.

prices +, treatment - "no thank you". generally i have enjoyed going into kid to kid to buy things for my son, their prices are reasonable and its great when you are on a budget. however my husband and i went into the SLC store on 21st south yesterday to sell my sons "gently used" fall clothing and was utterly appalled by how we were treated by 2 of the stores employees. from the get-go, they acted "uppity" like they were better than we were. to begin with, they were very loudly complaining about how this was the longest day and they didn't want to be there (this was only at 2pm), which as a customer i found very bothersome. then, as they sorted though our clothing, they kept making and repeating rude comments like "if i wanted to buy something like THIS, I'd go to wal-mart!" as if our clothing was not "good enough" for them. for a business that relies very heavily upon recycled clothing, i would have expected the employees to at least treat us like human beings and not to have been so full of themselves. and then to finish the experience, after accepting some of our clothing, they handed us back a bag which the woman snottily referred to as "No Thank-You's." it really all in all was a rather unpleasant experience, and neither my husband nor i will ever return to the store after being treated like that.
