La Frontera. BEST Mexican Restaurant I have ever ate at. I moved out of Utah 3 1/2 yrs ago and I am still looking for a Mexican Restuarant that even compares to La Frontera. Everytime we go back to Utah, La Frontera is the first place we go! I wish they would put a La Frontera in Kansas. They would do awesome here. I LOVE their smothered burritos. PLEASE, PLEASE place a La Frontera in Topeka, Kansas, or Kansas City, Kansas..PLEASE!!! When we lived in Utah we would eat there 1-2 times a week...sometimes more!! AWESOME FOOD!!!!!!
Great food always fast and not expensive!!. I love this place, it has the best food big plates lots of food and is not very expensive at all!!!! I would recommend trying this place.. my favorite is the smothered bean and cheese burritto! To die for!!!
Best Mexican in Utah. A family favorite. When deciding on a place to go out La Frontera is almost always a considered or suggested place. Come hungry because the meals are large and its too good to leave any behind. Personal Favorite: Small Combination
La Fantastico more like!!.
LA FRONTERA, has been around for nearly as long as I can remember, and I can remember quite a long time. La Frontera has always had good, authentic Mexican food and lots of it for very reasonable prices.
The food and selection have remained remarkably unchanged for years and years. It's nice to have a menu that you can order the same thing from, (if you're boring like I,) for the long haul, unlike other, shorter lived Mexican places that change the flavor, variety and price of their fair on a seemingly monthly basis.
La Frontera offers flavors that don't over power but with plenty of picante spiciness that hits the spot., reddening your face without burning up your throat.
Nor do they try to mask bland, flavorless fair with incinerating habanero juice. It's simply good, wholesome food that sticks to your ribs and delights your palate.
HIGHLY recommended. =)
Addendum:
Just to rebut. Another rater on thisl listing apparently did not have the common sense to even insure that he/she was rating the correct restaurant.
Knowing the name of the establishment you're commenting on is OH, SO helpful. lol!
THE WORST MEXICAN FOOD I HAVE EVER HAD.
DONT KNOW IF THE RESTRAUNT ON STATE STREET IN SANDY IS ANY CONNECTION OR NOT BUT THAT IS WORST DINNER I HAVE EVER HAD. FIRST OFF I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO A MEXICAN PLACE THAT DOES NOT SERVE CARNE ASADA
SECOND THE FOOD WAS STONE COLD LOOKS LIKE THE MAKE PRE PLATES IN THE BACK AND THEN JUST THROW CHEESE ON THEM AND TRY TO HEAT IT........ YUK WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE.... SAVE YOUR SELF SOME TIME AND MONEY AND PASS ON THIS ONE
Best Mexican Food!.
My family and I have been going here for years we Love it!!! I have lived in other places (states) and have not been able to find mexican food like La Frontera has. I wish they would open up in Nevada and in California. They would do so great!
It truley is my favorite place! Also, after taking my fiance they he now craves it as well. So we will have to make a trip soon to go take care of our craving. Oh yeah and to go see my family. lol! The best one and only one I go to is the one on S.L.C. 400 So. 1300 W.
Thank You!
Simpy the Best. Anyone who doesn't like this restaurant has no idea what great, authentic Mexican food should taste like. By far the best Chile Verde burritos anywhere. Their beans are also great. The enchiladas, tacos, and tostadas are also very good. This location of La Frontera is the best. I have eaten at some of the new offshoots of this restaurant and they are OK. Sometimes the others come close and sometimes they are just mediocre by La Frontera standards. La Frontera is the best food and biggest portions at the best price anywhere. All out of town relatives always make a stop at La Frontera when they pay us a visit.
Heaping portions of Mexican food--be prepared to loosen your belt a notch..
The Scene
Brown vinyl booths and white stucco walls decorated with south-of-the-border knickknacks and colorful Mexican blankets. The jukebox has everything from '70s rock to mariachi music.
The Food
Huge portions of rich Mexican food with Americanized flavors. If you're a cheese lover, this is your place--they really pile it on. For those with a hearty appetite, go for the small combination--that's right, small. It consists of a cheese enchilada, tostada, taco and burrito. Add chile verde, rice, beans and a tortilla, and you've got a large combination. On the a la carte menu, the smothered burrito is popular--fans of La Frontera's chile verde say nobody does it better. The chile relleno is a good bet, but be forewarned, it's covered in cheese. Tamales are another good choice.
Fantasic Food. This resturant services the best Authentic Mexican Cusiene in the valley. The food is rich, tasty and your plate is full! The prices are fair for the value you recieve.
My favorite Mexican restaurant!. The food is great and the chile verde is the best!
