created a medical emergency – Called for a cab to come to sears at 800 south main. today. After an hour and a half, no taxi.. I am diabetic, and need regular insulin. Who would have imagined that it would take this long for a pick up in the downtown area. The manager at sears gave me and my packages a ride to my brothers house, where I keep spare insulin. I am filing a complaint with the city of salt lake. I was originally intending to go out to magna, which is a 50 dollar fare. As it turned out, I went to the avenues to my brothers house for my insulin. If the taxi had come in a reasonable time, the driver would have made 50 bucks.
Over Charged Hung Up On Twice – I received a ride from my home to my bank while I did not have my car. The cab driver nearly got into an accident leaving my neighborhood stop sign, and yelled and cussed at the car he almost hit. He also bad mouthed the company and owners for most of the ride which was uncomfortable.
My cab ride was clearly overcharged as well. I contacted city cab when I arrived back home to confirm their rates. When they confirmed rates and I let them know what I was charged they told me their meters must have been broken in that car. I was over charged $1 per mile. I asked him what they would do to fix it and he told me he couldn't the meter was just off. I let him know that I was upset with this and wanted a refund for the monies over charged. He began to yell at me and hung up on me.
I was furious at this and called back to ask for a manager. The manager told me that I gave the wrong address and this is why I was overcharged, which does not make sense when I had already received a cab ride from them, confirmed rates and confirmed being over charged. I let him know this and asked what he would do to fix the situation. He told me I had a bad attitude. I let him I know would place a complaint and he told me I should and that I had a bad attitude again and hung up on me... again. Terrible services all and all. I did place a complaint as well.
Difficult For No Reason – Working as a receptionist, a gentleman from one of our meetings asked me to call him a cab. I did and the gentleman waited in our lobby. When the cabbie called 10 minutes later and I asked him if he was able to find our building, he asked me "what building", played dumb as to if I had even called a cab at all, and was overly difficult and rude. I gave him directions over the phone and asked him to park and wait while I find the gentleman (who now had went to the restroom). Apparently that was too much hastle for the cabbie who then spent some time harrassing me for not knowing the name of the man who wanted a cab. When I told him that he could just leave if it was too big of a problem he again harrassed me about how I should pay for his gas money. I do not know if the gentleman even got the cab or not.
The Only One I Use – Out of the 3 major cab companies Salt Lake has City Cab is the most reliable and friendly. I work in a place where we frequently have to call a cab for someone and I will only call this service.
Tremendous, professional service in a time of crisis – My husband's Alzheimer's disease has taken a turn for the worse and he wandered off, but this time it was in our car. Both police and sheriff's offices were involved. He was found near Winnemuca. The City Cab dispatcher immediately got a driver for me and Paul kept me calm and plied with diet coke until he safely got me there. I felt he was extraordinary.
Great group – I have used City Cab for the last 7 years on and off when I need to get to the airport, or somewhere else and dont want to leave my car. I have never had a problem with them, they are always on time, and always friendly. The only complaints that are ever heard about these guys is that New Years Eve is a bad time to get a ride. Hello? It is NEW YEARS EVE!!
SHOULD BE OUT OF BUSINESS – First of all, I called at 2 pm on new years eve, was GURANTEED a cab by 8 pm. at 8:15 I was told we were forgotten about and that a cab was on the way. at 9 PM I was told "it's NEW YEARS EVE what do I EXPECT?" after I mentioned the other HORRIBLE reviews, the owner of the company THREATENED ME! and said come down here and straighten it out!

WORST SERVICE EVER – INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTED!!! This company provided the poorest service I have EVER received. We called a day ahead of time to reserve a cab at a specified time on New Year's Eve. The person taking the reservation promised that we would have a cab at our reserved at the time. When the cab was 15 minutes late we called to see if the cab was on it's way. The owner answered the phone, said "it's New Year's - what do you expect?" and proceeded to threaten us saying "Why don't you come here through the phone and straighten it out?" - and the conversation continued to go downhill form there. We will NEVER attempt to use this company again.
The worse taxy service you can imagine – Rubbish. You can wait for for about 30 minutes and then after your 2-nd call they are saying like: "Try something else buddy". I really need a taxy when was waiting in hospital - they didn't come. Their attitude is special one - they can just put down the phone while you're trying to get some info.
