The Scene
Don't ask for a table with a view--George's is buried in the lobby of a medical office building, right across the street from Salt Lake Regional Medical Center (formerly Holy Cross Hospital). When the U. is in session, students pack this place on Saturday morning.
The Food
For breakfast, you've got to get a roundhouse special--you get a mound of hash browns covered with cheese and two eggs (under the potatoes, you'll find ham, bacon and sausage). Another popular choice is the feta-tomato-onion omelet. Lunch favorites include chicken-fried steak, served with potatoes, a vegetable and soup. Regulars also like the George's special hamburger--a double-burger with cheese, served with fries. Not in the burger mode? Try the hot ham and cheese.

I loved this place, even when George sold it and it briefly became Dimitri's, the roundhouse was always the best breakfast in town. Imagine my surprise then when one day I went to pull into my favorite parking spot and the parking garage was gated AND there was a big For Sale sign on the building. I thought at first it had to be some sort of sick joke. But alas it did spell the death knell of my all time favorite breakfast eatery. R.I.P. George the Greeks! You're loyal patrons will miss you...

Like I said I still get the craving at least once a month for a roundhouse. Someday I'll make my way back through Salt Lake and you can bet the house that Georges will be on the top of my list for breakfast. As many times as I've tried to recreate that artery clogger it just doesn't taste the same..oh and if your really hungry do the 1 1/2.
Pros: Perfect breakfast especially if you have the rest of the day to relax
Cons: get there early I remember it being quite busy
