Hotel Monaco. I'm not sure who thought this was a budget hotel. It's a first-class, five star place with the best rooms, restaurant, etc in town (along with the Grand America), and prices to match. The Crystal Inn (two locations) is a better budget bet, but if you have the $$$, go for the Monaco!

It was okay, but.... My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Monaco in Salt Lake and while the atmosphere was definitely fun and trendy, we paid a LOT for a suite that was well-decorated but pretty tiny and didn't have a jetted tub (we were promised one). The staff were a little stuffy and pretentious and the parking was also really expensive. It was a beautiful room; I just felt like we paid for a lot more than we got.

A Treasure. Small but elegant room. Excellent staff and amenities. Great rates. Good bar downstairs for a night-cap. I hated to leave.

Absolute luxery. Not only does this place have great rooms, they have great food as well -- Bambara.

Amazingly Eclectic. The service and atmosphere are great. The downtown location is great. And, the lobby and the bar are great places to hang out if you are star struck.

Did I just see Spencer Tracy. No. But it feels like I did a time warp to yester-year into Los Angeles or San Francisco. The romance and luxury of the past has come home to Salt Lake City.

Boutique and Beautiful. This small boutique hotel is comfortable, beautiful and just an all around enjoyable place to stay. Free massages and wine tasting in the lobby, gold fish to keep you company at night, and comfortable beds make this hotel a must-stay. Every staff person I encountered--from front desk staff to room service to bellmen--was helpful, pleasant and enthusiastic about what their city has to offer a short-time visitor. The in-house restaurant has healthy and quick breakfast service, as well as elegant and posh dinner dining.
