An inviting bookstore where customers can seek out popular titles like "The Essential House.".
The Scene
Hugo Lerner, co-owner of Bibliotect and an architect himself, is explaining the genesis of his small, well-stocked store located in ArtSpace: "I have a passion for books and architecture and I've always thought it would be a great thing to have not just a bookstore, but a social center where people can come together and talk about arts, architecture, and design."
Good For
Although the store's inventory focuses on books about design, gardening, remodeling, architecture and visual arts, the appeal is not limited to, or even primarily aimed at, professional architects. Lerner says his audience consists of middle-class professionals with an interest in the world outside Utah. In addition to new and used books, Bibliotect boasts an espresso bar and regular art exhibits.
