The Scene
Whereas some consignment stores cater to collectors, Elemente is all about nostalgia--a fun smattering of stuff from the 1940s through the 1970s. Located on Pierpont Avenue, the store is colorful on the outside and pleasantly crowded on the inside (they get brownie points for having the largest floor space in town). The feel is decidedly macramé, but exotic touches make Elemente a bit more hip than your average D.I.
Good For
Elemente is one of the few vintage stores where you can get a complete set, meaning four identical kitchen chairs and matching couches. Elemente also leads the market when it comes to knick-knacks. Look closely at the dishes, lamps, pillows and wall art.
What You'll Spend
Just about what you'd expect. $500 couches, $200 coffee tables and $40 lamps.
