A fun and fascinating assortment of recent antiques that may or may not be worth a fortune.. The Scene
Everything in Moriarty's tells a story, although the story isn't all that old. The large, warehouse-style space houses a fabulous collection of random items (mostly from the 1950s) all displayed tidily in sliding-glass display cases. And while there are some beautifully preserved specialty pieces, the whole store has a touchable quality rare in downtown antique stores.

The Goods
Knickknacks from the '20s share shelf space with vintage toys from the '60s, '70s and so on. Large furniture items and complete sets are a bit rare, but you'll find fabulous deals on jewelry, toys, games, glassware, books, magazines and casual china.
There are some beautiful Chippendale reproductions and several Jasperware china plates. Hardcore PEZ collectors will find originals from as far back as the '50s.

My Favorite. I love this place. Moriarty's has the best variety of antiques in Salt Lake. And the people who work there are not only friendly, but just plain fun. I spend way too much money there, but even so, I sure get a lot of great things there.
