Wunderbar!!!. Having spent some time in southern Germany, I am elated to have a place to go to have some nice German home cooking. I always leave with something from the store. It also gives me a chance to speak a little German with the workers. I suggest anything on the menu. It's all good!

A real German deli in downtown SLC.. The Scene
If you like huge, steamy bratwurst, German potato salad, cooked cabbage, and schnitzel, this Bavarian deli with a small dining room is the place for you. It's one of the few places in the area that specializes in German food, and you'll see many native Germans come in for takeout or to buy the ingredients to make dinner at home.

The Food
Sandwiches are sold, along with bread, meat, and cheese?all freshly sliced. Black Forest Cake is a Siegried's specialty, and many people order their layered cakes for special occasions. You'll also find a variety of chocolates and European cookies. It's helpful to know exactly what you want when you go in, because a number of the employees speak much better German than English.

Siegfried's Becomes An Addiction. I eat at Siegfried's about twice a week. The food is amazing (I suggest weinerschnitzel, sour kraut and schpitzel with gravy), and the atmosphere, while slightly less than aesthetically pleasing, is definitely cozy.

If you're looking for a new restaurant and want to leave feeling satisfied, definitely give Siegfried's a try!

Wintertime comfort food. I would always get lunch at Siegfried's when I was craving something hearty and comforting in the winter. Buttery spaetzle is a true treat, though better eaten plain than with the somewhat bland brown gravy. The adjoining market is a great place to browse before or after lunch. Look for imported treats and get deli meats to go.
