Bad and I mean BAD, food and service.. My wife and I used to frequent Squatters on a regular basis, before moving away for a number of years. After our return we went back to the familiar and what used to be a great eating establishment. Boy, were we disappointed. The service was horrible. Our apps came out about 30-40 minutes after we ordered, then our entrees came out separately, spaced by about 15 minutes. Obvioulsy one of the meals was forgotten or worse. No explaination or apology, just business as usual. My wife ordered the fish and chips, on the memory on how good it used to be. It was so nasty, upon taking a bite, I was forced to eject it into my napkin. Dinner turned into a two hour ordeal that was completely awful on all fronts, plus the added stress of thinking we just ate some bad fish. The beer is still good, and I would recommend having a few pints and leaving for a better run place to eat your dinner.
Mediocre food, average prices.. The food was mediocre, the air conditioning a bust, and with the construction it was not very clean. Perhaps when all that is cleared up it will get back to the decent grungy mediocre food it used to be.
We went for a lunch; food was average, a little over price
If you not a beer drinker, I would recommend looking for another place .
Horrible service and food.
We used to love Squatters but it has gone downhill very fast. We ate there on a Thursday night and had the WORST service - had to flag waitress to get drinks when empty, food took forever (four of use were there for 1hour and 45 minutes from sit down to paying check - a bit ridiculous for this type of restaurant). When waitress finally brought food she said that another waiter had taken one of our party's dinner so they had to make again. Once the rest of us started eating, we realized that they had just let our food sit there in the meantime - hamburger bun was soggy, fries were cold, etc. They should have either brought our food out and told us what happened so other had to wait or cooked our entire table's order again.
Will not eat here again and it's too bad since it used to be a regular spot for us.
GREAT ALL AROUND!!!!!!!. We love Squatters!!! We've lived in UT for several months now and eat at Squatters at least 2x a week. The beer is FANTASTIC! If calamari is something you enjoy, give their's a try. It's always delicious!! Another reason we enjoy hanging out there is because you find other people who know how to enjoy a casual evening out with good beer and food. A rarity in Utah. Plus, they have a patio for outside seating in the summer. We highly recommend trying Squatters!
Great food, Great been. My wife and I visited this place twice last week while on a vacation trip that included Salt Lake City. We love the atmosphere, very good draft beer, and healthy food choices. Service was always great and prices reasonable. Next time we are in Salt Lake City this is the only place we plan to eat.
Wide variety beers and food, good service. Squatters offers many different beers and you also can get a sampler to try all the beers. The food has always been good. The garlic fries are so good! Definitely get the appetizer or as a side with your meal. Squatters also offers table taps. Sometimes weekend nights can be really busy, so go early or late or during the week.
The original. Just like Star Wars; A New Hope it is always the original that is the BEST.
Great Beer. I've never eaten at Squatters, but the beer is fantastic. So many choices and all very high quality. This is a great place to go after a hard day of skiing, sit by the fire and drink a great beer of your choice. The service is very good as well, although it can get a bit uncrowded at times.
This city oasis offers fun, casual dining and its own microbrews..
A well-appointed patio area at the back of the pub is a treat during the summer months. An oasis in the middle of a concrete jungle, the patio plays host to live musicians on Friday nights throughout the summer. A healthy mix of 20- and 30-somethings gather at this original Salt Lake City brewpub for business and pleasure.
Pub fare like pizza, burgers and fish-and-chips mix with more ethnically diverse offerings served fresh from the kitchen. Squatters also has 12 of its own microbrews on tap. While you'll always find staple beers, brewmaster Jennifer Yohe likes to keep things interesting by seasonally brewing specials, nitro beers and cask-conditioned ales.
