The Scene – The interior is basic and spare, decorated with sleek, modern light fixtures and an L-shaped sushi bar. There are plenty of tables with comfortable chairs, but if you sit at the bar, you can watch the chefs in action. – – The Food – The various types of sushi and sashimi are always fresh and fine. When soft shell crab is in season, order it. Crackling crisp on the outside, tender and delicate on the inside, it's artfully presented. Rolls can seem a bit pricey, but every bite is worth the cost. The house special is Tokyo-style sukiyaki. It consists of…
Worst Sushi Experience Ever. (Draper location)
by JohnM5
We visited this location on a Friday night. A half an hour before their official closing time, they starting throwing up chairs, told us it was "last call" to order more rolls, and made it blatantly obvious that they were "bothered" to have us there so late. Again, this was 30 mins before closing! The final straw was before we even got our sushi, they asked us to pay. The woman returned seriously 4 mins later as I was trying to eat, and asked for the receipt! I could not believe the rush everyone was in to get out of there by 10!! Sadly, I take clients to the downtown location all the time, but because of this, I will no longer. The sushi was so-so as well. Only one sushi chef was nice about the whole thing. We seriously were done and left at 10:04PM, 4 mins after their official closing time!!. Poor poor service. We won't return. With so many great sushi places around, why would ya?
- Pros: In a hurry? They will scoot you along to get you out before closing!
- Cons: Poor, rushed, service and sushi that was overall "so so". I'll go else where.
Superb Sushi
by KayleeB
The sushi is superb, the service is friendly, and the prices are reasonable. The only criticism involves cleanliness. The walls near diners should be cleaned spotless.
- Pros: Food, ambience, service, prices
- Cons: cleanliness
Stay Away From Ginza!!
by getwhatyoupayfor
My husband and I went to the Ginza in Draper tonight - totally disappointed.
Food:
We each ordered miso (which is usually a telltale sign when you start off with bad miso soup)
We also ordered a few sushi rolls(which were $13.95 a roll) When they came to the table they looked and tasted pretty dull. For that amount of money - I would have expected something better than $35 worth of sushi crammed together on some salad plate. It just did not look appetizing at all!!
Service:
I was still eating and the waitress reached over and tried to take my plate! She asked "are you all done or are you still picking at that!" My husband and I just stared at her - what? The description for my roll said it was topped with eel sauce - nope! nothing. (had to ask for some) My husbands roll was supposed to be topped with mint leaves -nada. (not that it would have improved the taste)
Anyways - if you are looking for decent sushi - STAY AWAY FROM GINZA!! I cant imagine how this location is still in business with how expensive and disappointing the food was. I'm going back to Suehiro in Ft Union. At least you can expect decent service and a lot better food.
- Pros: nothing
- Cons: overpriced food, presentation was NOT good, food tasted pretty dull, Serive was rushed
