The Scene – Located in a nondescript strip mall, Royal India hardly looks like much from the outside. Step inside and you're greeted with the prickly scents of Indian cuisine. The décor is simple--not showy--and service is gracious. – – The Food – Start out with samosa--a delicate deep-fried pastry filled with seasoned vegetables or a ground lamb mixture. The accompanying mint chutney is nicely spiced with jalapeños. Entrées include chicken, lamb, seafood or vegetarian selections. The rich, chicken saag combines spinach, onions, cream and spices into a…
Food that's only outclassed by the amazing service

Bit of a wait to be seated on Saturday night, but I can see why. Food and service are excellent. The waiters use more of a zone defense as opposed to the usual man to man, so you'll have a series of gentleman stopping by the table to make sure everything is ok. I appreciated the carafe of water, as I drink a lot with my meal. Food was delivered lightning fast. Everything was hot. We asked for an extra soup spoon, and they dropped off an extra bowl of soup--no charge. Everyone was cheerful and friendly. Portions are large. Flavors will linger well after your meal.
You can't ask for anything more.
- Pros: Food, Service, Variety
- Cons: Not in my neighborhood :(
Great place for Indian food!

Great service and great food. The wait to get a table was 20 minutes, but it was a weekend evening so of course it was busy. Once we sat down the service was prompt and our appetizers were out in no time. Loved the food and loved the service.
- Pros: Service
Incredible service, delicious and nutricious Indian food, great vegetarian options, and at a very reasonable price

If you want to try something different, delicious, and at a very reasonable price, this is one of the best kept secrets in Salt Lake County. If you live in the Avenues or Downtown, I really think you will be very happy with a short drive to Sandy.
My wife, daughter, and I have visited Royal India twice and both times we were treated like, well, "Royalty". The people who work there are charming and extremely responsive. Royal India has adequate seating for large parties and for couples.
The servings are good sized and the food and wine menus has a wide variety of options. We have all tried different appetizers and entrees (and then tried each others choices)...and the flavor and texture of the food is top notch.
My wife and I are vegetarians and we both felt we had a lot of menu options to choose from. The inside of the restaurant is very clean, with beautiful murals from India on the walls. The tables are nice, painting and lighting are very nice...so don't be fooled that this is located in a strip mall.
This is a hidden gem...and it is now one of our favorite restaurants.
- Pros: Delicious and exotic food, INCREDIBLE service, and at a very reasonable price
- Cons: It's located in a strip mall, but don't be fooled...this restaurant is worth it!
