Most amazing teppanyaki/hibachi grill!!. We just moved here from Montana and on our 6th anniversary we were referred to this establishment. I was apprehensive to spend the money (around $20/ person) but did it anyway. I was VERY satisfied and can't wait to go back. The wait staff was very much on top of our drink refills before they were even gone! We ordered the dinner for 2 which consisted of soup, salad, 2 appetizers, chicken, filet mignon, shrimp, fried rice and mixed veggies. The chef cooked everything to perfection. The veggies were not soggy but slightly crisp, the rice had amazing flavor, there were 2 types of dipping sauces for the meat, both were delightful! The chef put on a great show and threw shrimp into everyones mouth!! The chicken and steak were fall apart., melt in your mouth, amazingness!! The flavor was to die for!! Then to top off the dinner for 2, you get a cup of vanilla ice cream with whip cream and a chocolate drizzle.

The wait staff was also very friendly!!

I can't wait to go back, this time I will take my kids!! So worth the money, and that means a lot because I am a cheap person!!

You won't go wrong choosing this restaurant!!

Our number 1 dining experience. We visit Bonsai steak house about three times each Month. The food is delicious and the enviroment is great. We love when other families join us at the table that have small children with them. Don't miss this dining experience if you have not been there prior.

The staff are really friendly and the management always greets us when we arrive like we are part of thier family.

Our Favorite Restaurant - Always Busy and Always Delicious. Bonsai Japanese Steak House is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is fresh, made before your eyes, and quite delicious. The staff is friendly and they want you to have a good experience. I've been to many restaurants and this remains one of my husband and I's favorites. I always order the Geisha (sp-?) special and bring food home. I not only have dinner at the restaurant but I have two more meals to eat later. You get a lot of food and it is worth the money.

Best fried rice on the planet !!!!!!!!!. I just want to let you guys know that i have recently been to Bonsai. The one in Holladay, I never new it was even there till my friends told me. well any ways it was a beautyfull restaurant with friendly service we have eatin many time at the one in sandy, but this time was something that just blew me away... The chefs name was Andy he came out looking very nervous, and i thought we were getting a newly trained chef but we were wrong. He introduce him self in a very strong asian accent so we thought that he didnt speak english very well, but after about 5 minute thet truth came out he actually came to the states when he was only 2 years old we found that out later on .... he started out with the egg like usual but his egg was flying everywhere around the table not like the other chefs in sandy his volcano was great and he made a little train with it, the food was cooked to perfect perfection and to top it off he was so fast he got us in than out cause we had told him that we want to catch a movie the the beef was so tender the shrimp was great he made it different from the other chef ... i really reccomend the filet or shrimp dinner if you go, and it is great cause its next to the movies .... make sure you ask for him the next time you go there and dont get fooled by his asian accent hahahah

Good for any group, any size!. This place is great for big groups or even small ones. When I was in high school our prom and other dance groups would usually pick Bonsai for where we would eat. Great food, great service and i love the atmosphere. Highly recommended!

NEVER EVER! Worst discriminatory chef ever!. Eating out is our family's tradition and it's our way of bonding. We've been regulars at our favorite ones and became friends with the staff and owners, but we still seek to discover great food AND great service. After our experience tonight at BONSAI, we are NEVER going back. And the initial plan of having our family get-together at BONSAI next month? CANCELED! First, our chef, who is as Asian as we are, unbelievably and obviously gave preferential treatment, attention and "entertainment" singularly to the white couple that we shared the table with, like they were the only customers. We were basically snubbed. Well, we're not dressed properly for dinner because we just came from the pool, but we are paying customers nonetheless. But most disappointingly, we did not get what we paid for - we felt that we paid for a part of the other couple's meal. Why? We ordered 12 oz of Fillet Mignon in addition to seafood entrees. The other couple's order was supposed to come with 8 oz. only and some chicken. But the chef had given them far more fillet mignon than he gave us after cooking all of the beef together on the teppanyaki table. A heaping scoop on each of their plate, and a meager less than half of that heaping scoop on each of my plate, my husband's, and our 2 kids with us. All put together, the four of us we got the 8 oz, the couple got our 12. A biased service is one thing, paying for food that we are not getting is another thing. We were speechless! The server sensed that something was bothering us. It's our family's rule not to complain at a restaurant until after the meal if something like this happens, so we told our server before we left. Her only answer answer? "Sorry". Grrrr! Well, NEVER EVER! My suggestion? Cook orders separately on each end of the teppanyaki table if your chefs do not know how to divide accordingly, get it?

best New Sushi and Tepan in town!. I found out about Bonsai on city search and I am glad I did! Our sushi chef Paul provided us with great recommendations and made our dinning experience quite memorable. If your not into sushi the tepan is good too. The atmosphere is fun, and acomodating, ideal for large groups and couples. The walls are covered with pictures of birthdays , anniversaries etc. Bonsai has great potential to be the best new restaurant in the holiday area.

Best New Tepan-Sushi in town!. I tried Bonsai for the first time about a year ago and fell in love with the atmosphere, food and chef's. I was told about their location in holiday and again I was pleasantly surprised. If you like great sushi, the holiday location has what you need. My kids love the shrimp tempura rolls and I love the sashimi. I took my kids for their birthdays and we had a great experience. Our Chef was Dani, he was great with the kids and prepared our food perfect. The service was not the best but the food made up for it. The sushi bar is small but the Chef gets the job done right.

Used to be the best restaurant. Just wanted to let everyone know that we have came all the way from price,ut just to eat here many times and we know Kevin the owner real well. But we just went there the other night and we didn't know anyone there at all the cooks and servers are new and was very disappointed in the food. We also found out that Kevin had opened another restaurant in holaday. If we go eat there again it won't be the one in sandy and we will go to the holladay one cause we think he took his good cooks over there. All the times we went to the Sandy one there was always alot of people and this time there was nobody there. Kevin if you read this this is Ron from Price and the food was very very bad and that's a shame cause I recommend your restaurant to everyone but your sandy one was pretty bad.
