Little flavor, and poor managment. Have been a few times with coworkers, as I work close to restaurant. The last visit, today, was tasteless and somehow my meal went from $5.50 for a tamale w/ rice and beans to $9.00 to have it smoothered with sauce only. Not only did the tamale have no flavor, as well as the sauce. The tamale was dry (mind you, I could tell it was dry even with sauce on it). When I asked how my meal went up so much, the manager simply stated that "ya we need to fix that on the menu, whenever I serve I let my tables know how much that will increase their ticket.". I told him I didn't like the food, and all he did was basically say "thats why I dont' go out to eat". I work in the restaurant industry, so I am aware that he had the ability to do something. He did nothing, and didn't care about their food, customer experience or satisfaction. I will not go back.

ok food, worse service. I went here with my girlfriend. The place was not very busy. We were seated promptly. About ten minutes after being seated our waitress showed up and took our orders. Along with our meals we ordered sodas and a side of guacamole to go with our chips as an apptizer. The guacamole didn't show up until our meals came. we requested to have the guacamole returned, we were still charged for it. Our waitress never showed up once to refill drinks or anything. We had to go to the front counter to get our ticket. We talked to the manager about the service and she was very rude and gave us an excuse that the owners cut hours so the service was bad. there was no appology or anything. I will never return to La Frontera and will go out of my way to make sure people I know don't go there either

great place if you can't taste food!. This food had no taste. When we walked in the place was pretty crowded and all the tables already had chips and squeeze bottle salsa waiting for you. The salsa was spicy but gross the chips tasted stale like they were made yesterday and sat on our table all night. We noticed they had a big bin to the side of the restaurant where they pulled already cooked chips from that have been sitting there for who knows how long! I ordered there 2 beef tacos with rice and beans SICK! The hamburger didn't taste like hamburger it had no salt no seasoning, the re fried beans same thing no salt no taste, the rice was good with some salt on it that was all i ate. There tomatoes weren't even fresh and my tacos were soggy. The service is very impersonal and frankly rude. My guest did not enjoy there meal either. We were laughing outside of the restaurant wondering what everybody liked about this place since it seemed to be full. We wanted to tell people to not go in. By other reviews i would think the best thing there is the the smothered burrito i wouldn't know and i will not be going back to try!

Some of the best in Utah. This is excellent Mexican food. You can't compare it to the "Fresh Mex" places that have popped up in recent years... this is authentic Mexican food. Their Chili Verde is so good. I've gone here for over 20 years, and it is one of my favorites. Their tortillas are homemade, and of a different style than other authentic Mexican food; they are thick and fluffy, and oh so yummy. I usually get the Large Combination Plate, and have enough leftover for one or two meals at home. You've gotta try it!

Bland Utah Mexican Food. If you enjoy Bland food without any taste or spice than this is the place for you. Tried it with my wife and we didn't enjoy it at all. The service was fast, the Salsa isn't tasty, just HOT. It was so Hot that I didn't even have more than one chip. I would not go back again.
