Tips for Tiburon Fine Dining

The most amazing food in UT. I've been to the Tiburon twice, and both times have been completely fabulous. The service has always been excellent, the atmosphere friendly and charming, and the food is 2nd to nothing I've found in this state (and we've been to some highly rated places). My husband and I often compare this place to the fine restaurants we have frequented in Napa's wine country. Creative dishes, sensational taste experiencs, and I find myself saying mmm... mmmm... throughout the whole meal.

awesome. My partner and I went on a Thursday night, we had reservations, and were promptly seated. The enclosed patio area is gorgeous. Our waitress was excellent (though she kept saying "us", as in, "I'll tell us about the specials".....which I found semi-annoying but no big deal. just weird. like a nurse.) It was a bit rocky at first b/c a bunch of lound, drunk 50 year olds were at the table next to us, but they left about 10 minutes after we got there. The salad was awesome, consisted of machego, apple, mixed greens, a roasted tomato, and an unusual vinagrette. My partner hates greens, and even he liked it. Then they brought lime and raspberry sorbet to cleanse our palates....delicious! (Definately homemade).

For mains, I had the elk tenderloin, and he had a steak. Both were out of this world. The sauces and accompaniments were perfectly balanced, and the portions were perfect. We had cheesecake for dessert, it was great! The service was perfectly paced and we had a wonderful time. And the bill? Only $100, which included a generous tip. Unbelievable.....we'd have paid at least double for that kind of meal back home in Seattle!

Just go there. Worth every penny! I had the special and it was fan-tas-tic! My husband tried the lamb and we both loved that as well. It was a pleasant evening and we were seated outside and surprise: live music! What a plus!

Service was wonderful and the food just perfect!

Affordable dazzling food. This place pleased my incredibly hard to please mother on a recent visit. The food was better prepared than Riverhorse and more affordable than the Tree Room, both of which I have visited multiple times this past winter. The service was attentive but not intrusive. The atmosphere was sophisticated in the dining room and relaxed in a pleasing way out on the breezeway and patio. I can't believe I took so long to finally visit! And did I mention it even pleased my mother?!? I will definitely return and am grateful for this jewel in Sandy.

Tiburon is the Best in Utah!. We had a wonderful experience from servers, to appetizers, salad, main dish, dessert. It was all so good and you can taste the "made from scratch" in every bite. Congrats, we finally found a wonderful place to dine in Utah. This is a 6 star restaurant.

Great from start to finish. The food at Tiburon is great. We moved to the Salt Lake area from Phoenix and were worried we would not be able to find any good restaraunts, but we have really loved Tiburon everytime we have gone there. Everything we have had, from the salad to the main course has always been great. One time my husband's steak was overcooked and we were promptly brought a new one without any fuss. The building itself is unimpressive but don't let the lack of style fool you - the food really is top notch. The atmosphere is nothing like La Caille but the food is twice as good at Tiburon. The duck is my favorite and my husband loves the filet with foi gras. We have never had a problem with the service - everyone has been polite and done a great job. We also have never felt that it has been too crowed or noisy.

Good, but not excellent.... I have been to Tiburon on several occasions and have usually been very pleased. I do not agree that it is the "best in Salt Lake", but recommend giving it a chance. In about six visits, my wife and I have been pleased with everything except for one fish dish (it was so unimpressive I can't even remember what kind of fish it was) and the duck. The service is typically very good, but there is one waiter who had served us twice who is extremely rude and snooty. The restaraunt was not busy on either occasion, but he acted like we should kiss the ground he walked on any time he graced us with his presence and that he was extremely put out that he had to refill our drinks. On each of these occasions he only had one other table. Also, the atmosphere leaves a little to be desired considering what they are going for with their cuisine. The building is extremely noisy. It seems that you can hear the conversations at the surrounding tables better than the one at your own. Although I think there are better restaraunts in Salt Lake City, I definitely think that Tiburon is worth a try.

Best in Salt Lake City, Utah. I have been to this restaurant about 7 times in the last two years and it's always been a dinning delight! The service is wonderful and the food is "out of this world". Even though it's a bit pricey, you get your value. Large portions and a menu full of wonderful delights. Would highly recommend!

Best restaurant in the South Salt Lake Valley. Atmosphere, service and cuisine are EXCELLENT every evening at this wonderful establishment. Reservations a must. When the season turns warm request a table outside on the secluded, delightfully landscaped patio - it is an absolute treat. Call ahead to verify when live entertainment is scheduled. Food-wise: excellent appetizers include the scallops and the brie. The dinner salad at Tiburon is always deliciously unique definitely high quality - and the chef changes it with the seasons. Among all the outstanding menu selections for dinner, the elk and the ahi are both superb. The wine list is exquisite. If you are interested in a high-class adult-oriented restaurant in the south valley, then Tiburon is the ONLY place to go. Although the dress code may be casual, their food, atmosphere, and service are all on par with a black tie evening every night - you owe it to yourself to dress accordingly.
