Awesome customer service.
My wife and I bought a futon there a year ago. That experience was very good, they delivered the item the same day. They wern't pushy, but instead were helpful and informative.
However, recently one of the arms on the futon broke (user error or abuse or whatever). I told them the story and they just gave me another arm right there on the spot. For free! I had my futon back together and fixed up in less than an hour, inlcuding the visit to the store. Wow! The guy who owns this store has been around for a long time, and I feel they will continue to be around if I need them again. I am sure if something every breaks again I can just head down there and get the parts I need. This may well be the best place to get a futon in the SLC area.
The male salesperson was quite helpfull, and the prices were reasonable.. I was skeptical about shopping here given the other negative reviews. However, the experience that I had with Futons and Beds was nothing short of exemplary. Initially, I went to this store and got a limp fish reception from a female salesperson, who didn't take much interest in being helpful and was unsure if I should return. However, upon returning later in the month, a male salesperson helped me and answered any and all questions I had while juggling the questions of several other customers. Their delivery was cheap, only $20, and the friend I brought to carry the futon up to my place wasn't even needed - that same male salesperson carried it up our narrow flight of stairs to our apartment with my help at no additional cost. I have no experience working with this company from afar (shipping), however their local service is very commendable. The futon was of excellent quality and had that most desirable 'new' smell to it. It is also in excellent working condition, and to sleep on it was a delightful experience in lieu of our old drooping mattress or the floor. This was my first experience with a futon, and thanks to the positive experience me and my wife had with this company, I don't think we will ever go back to a regular bed.
DO NOT BUY HERE - NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCE. This was definitely the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. I ordered a custom futon from them that they promised would ship the same week. I was leaving on a trip and had to have it by then, and they agreed. After the week came and went, I called and they realized they'd never even shipped it! They swore they would send it two-day mail...again the days came and went and I had to leave for my trip. We found out that the shipment was supposedly lost in the mail. There was no time to replace the product so I asked for a refund. They complained that they did not want to take the loss, even though UPS paid them for the lost shipment! Eventually they agreed to return my money. But it didn't show up in my account. I called every week for THREE months and got the run-around each time as to why my money had not been returned. DO NOT BUY HERE, if you have the slightest problem it will turn into a nightmare.
Missing Items. . .. I purchased a futon frame, cover and futon mattress from this store back in December. The salesman criticized the arm design that I wanted, telling me which he liked better. I ordered the one I wanted. Then, a couple days before delivery, I got a call saying that the arms were out of stock when I ordered them. They said they would give me temp. arms until the ones that I ordered came in. It's almost March. I called once at the beginning of February. I've yet to see my mattress cover or my arms. I e-mailed them recently and haven't gotten a response. If you want to throw away a thousand dollars, get a futon here. If they would just show some customer support skills, give me a call, it would all be fine. However, when I've tried to call them, no one seems to know what's going on.
