Looking forward to going back....
Great restaurant. Excellent food. Very good service. Food came out fast and everything was as ordered. Dinner salads were nicely sized with a variety of
ingredients. Onion rings and fried pickles were huge. Burgers, pork, chili and veggie burger were all good.
Waiting area is limited to the bar. Dinner came out a little before we finished the salads. Garlic toast had too much butter for some. I would rate my
experience 4 of 5.
Avoid if you can. Nice atmosphere and convenient location - but that's all. We've made a simple order of Buffalo wings, beer, Margarita and Baby Back ribs with baked potatoes. Wings arrived within 10 minutes, but no plates, utensils or even napkins. I had to wait for my beer for 10 more minutes. Plus, we got 1 wet napkin (for 2 persons) and 2 paper towels. Some of the wings were raw inside. Another 20 minutes and couple of reminders to a waitress - our ribs appeared. Again, no plates, utensils or napkins. Summary - potatoes were undercooked, ribs terrible, tasteless and the second pack (on the bottom of the plate) even smell bad. Service is absent. The worst experience in a Deer Valley and, I would say, among everything I've tried in this hemisphere. Don't waste your time, money and nerves.
I am a long time Park City resident and have been coming to this restaurant since they opened. I have always greatly enjoyed their food, service and atmosphere. However, this evening a few friends and I came in for apres ski drinks and appetizers. I am appalled at the new pricing.
A total of $80 for 5 beers, an Irish Coffee, 3 shots of Jagermeister and 1 plate of Zucchini is crazy. We were very suprised at $8 Jager shots and did the math. The industry standard on alcohol is 300%. A mark up of 950% is simply ridiculous and price gouging. The Ski resorts don't even charge that much of a mark up on alcohol. All of my friends and I have worked in the restaurant industry for a combined total of about 30 years. Even in this town that mark up seems exceedingly exorbitant.
We would really like to come back to Bandits but at this pricing will find hard to do so. We are continuously asked where to go in town by tourists, and in the past have always recommend Bandits. We find it very hard to continue to recommend Bandits to tourists and new locals alike, knowing that this new pricing is so much higher compared to other bars and restaurants with in walking distance.
Cute place, great location (Main St, Park City). Casual atmosphere, country music. Decent selection of wine and beer.
Service: We were seated for 5 min before our anyone asked us what we'd like to drink. We had an issue with our ribs, See below.
Food: It's BBQ, how can you mess it up? This place did. I had a combination dinner w/ Baby Back Ribs and the Tri-Tip. I had to ask what Tri-Tip was. The waitress didn't really know except that it was a cut of steak and one of the most requested menu items. Well--the cut of steak was not STEAK. It was more like beef brisket. I had unknowingly ordered it medium-rare. It came out grey, but I didn't send it back because once I saw what it was I was glad it was cooked all the way through. Whatever ribs they put on my plate were clearly not baby backs. I assumed the kitchen gave me spare ribs instead. The waitress did ask the kitchen but then assured me they were baby backs. The ribs were tough, not tasty at all. I was disappointed when the waitress said that she would exchange my ribs if they hadn't been eaten yet! Well I had already taken a bite - which is when I was convinced they were not baby backs. How could I send them back now? I told the waitress no thank you. The manager did end up coming to our table with a fresh plate of ribs. She told us they were the spare ribs and hoped we could still enjoy our meal. Let me tell you that the second portion of ribs were definitely baby-backs and MUCH better than the original batch I received. Maybe the kitchen doesn't know the difference between spare ribs and baby backs? Baby Backs are smaller, the bones of the bunch should decrease in size and are typically 3-5." Also, the meat should be very tender and fall off the bone. I only eat baby backs.
I appreciate management doing their best to remedy the situation. I didn't leave hungry, but I will not go back. The corn on the cob was tasty but cold. The baked potatoes were over-cooked and grainy.
Best Barbeque I have ever had. The building is set on historic main st in ParkCity. It takes you back to the old west with pictures of gunslingers and old fashioned lanterns as lights. The barbeque was amazing, Ive been to alot of bbq places from the Carolinas to Texas and this little gem of a restaurant was one of my favorites. I had the babyback ribs beans and slaw, the dry rub they put on the ribs was some of the best ive ever tasted and the beans were to die for, my wife had the pulled pork sandwich, the bbq sauce was fantastic and the meat very tender. Beyond the food the service was also very good. Food came out in a timely manner and we didnt feel rushed between appetizers and entrees. Drinks were kept full and the server brought plenty of napkins and wetnaps much needed for this good old BBQ feast. Thanks for the great food Bandits, we will be back.
Barbecue at its best complete with checked tablecloths, paper plates, and food you eat with your fingers..
Patsy Cline, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, and other country favorites fill the jukebox--two songs for a quarter. Located in the heart of Park City's Main Street, Bandits' is a local favorite. Formerly Texas Red's Pit Barbecue and Chili Parlor, this long, casual spot is a great spot to take kids--noise is not a problem here.
Expect authentic Texas-sized portions of barbecued ribs, chicken, and pork along with its award-winning, two-alarm chili. But don't limit yourself to ribs, try the chicken-fried steak or blackened catfish for a real Texas treat. Kids will love the animals--particularly the jackelopes--and the homemade desserts (rum cake!), while the adults will love the affordable prices and ability to accommodate parties of all sizes.
