Mariposa

Only Highend Restaurant in Deer Valley. Mariposa is good, but it's not as good as some reviews would have you believe. However, since it's the only highend restaurant in Deer Valley, you either love it or get in you car and drive down the mountain to Park City.

Basically, there are no surprises on the menu. You've had this food at other restaurants before. Service is a little stuck up, but that's probably because they just waited on a celebrity before you arrived.

Tucked away mid-mountain at Deer Valley in the Silver Lake Lodge, Mariposa is the definition of rustic elegance. There are tree trunk beams, wood floors, and a roaring fireplace in an intimate corner of the room. There's a hush and a reverence here for the beautiful food and the snowflakes floating down outside.



The Food
From wild game to fresh fish, the very best delicacies are made with the perfect sauces and sides rendering dishes that look like works of art. If you're having trouble deciding what to order, try the Mariposa mixed grill--a gourmet sample plate of lamb chop, venison medallion and wild boar sausage with caramelized shallot, Montmorency cherry and whole grain mustard sauces, portobello mushrooms and mashed potatoes.
