I think this group of people below are wrong!. I just registered for CitySearch because I felt obligated to defend the La Puente I frequent. The food is unbeatable, hands down. It is always good (yes smothered burritos are the best) but the service doesn't suck. I have been going there for probably 20 years and have NEVER had a bad experience, not ONCE. They are fast, friendly, and did I say the food is the best?? I think the mob of reviews below me demonstrates, if anything, that some high maintenance, not very friendly, co-workers have nothing better at work to do than bomb a restaurant with inaccurate reviews. Having worked at a grocery store for 11 years, I would be the first to say that half the people on the planet walk around acting entitled to act like 5 year old brats. La Puente is the shiznit.…
No longer a Fan. Our work group has been going to La Puente for years on a nearly weekly basis. I am so sad to write that things have changed dramatically. No longer do we have our sweet waitress who always remembered us. Now we have a waiter who tries to overcharge and when you ask for a cup for your leftover drink says "no". Seriously, I couldn't drink it all & even offered to pay for the cup. When we approached the owner about the over charge he was rude & loud. The people behind us said they have a fight with him every time they come in. There was a day when their smothered burritos were worth the price. Now the chicken (even smothered) is dry, the servers are rude & the owner is the rudest. He has lost a contant group of fans. It is just not worth it.…

My co-workers and I have been going to this La Puente for years for lunch. Today was the experience that will end that weekly tradition. The owner of this location has to be one of the most rude people I have EVER met! He is obnoxious, loud, overbearing, rude and likes to overcharge people!
How difficult is it to write up "today's special" on our order? Apparently our waiter found it quite difficult and then charged us the a la carte menu price rather than the "today's special" price.
When we brought it to the owner's attention (he was ringing us up)...his attitude seemed to blame US for the mistake! He was extremely loud and even the Customers standing in line behind us started talking about how terrible the service is and what a rude person he is.
The owner REALLY needs to take some Customer Service classes! He has lost a LOT of business from my co-workers and myself.
La Frontera...here we come!
I LOVE the Ft. Union La Frontera...they have the BEST service and the BEST manager!
Ask for Omar...he is the most amazing waiter I have EVER had the pleasure to be served by!…
Worst Service and Owner EVER!!! Overcharged.
Where do I begin?... first of all the food is already over priced then the waiter tried to charge us more. After asking him for a cup to take our drink with us he said "no" then the owner wanted to
charge us $1 for a cup. After bringing the mistake of the over charge to the owner he called the waiter over and the waiter quickly corrected it for 4 of us. When it was my turn to pay for my food plus I had a take-out order the owner tried to over charge me and told me that I don't know what the special is. I grabbed one of his menu's and showed him where he had overcharged me more than $3 per special.
This owner is very rude and unprofessional. Normally we get the rude, heavy waitress but today we got the rude little waiter who over charged us. You can always count on the rude owner to take things to a new level at La Puente.
The 6 of us vowed never to go back.
We will take our business to LaFrontera just around the corner on Fort Union where the service and prices are uncomparible.…
Best Smothered Burritos. Yup. The service is mediocre at best and the attitude of the waiters is pretty dismal, but the food is CHEAP, the quantities are plentiful and the smothered burritos with cheese and onions are YUM-YUM-YUMMY!…
