Tips for Lone Star Steakhouse

December 12, 2012

Very disappointed. Not up to the standards of Texas Roadhaus. I ordered the 12 oz. Ribeye. It was very thin and tough. My baked potatoe was actually raw and cold in the center. The bread was dry and tasteless. Service was fair but not outstanding. Prices were quite high for what I got. I would not recommend this restaurant.

If you can't find better food than this, then go on a fast.. This is a poorly managed restaurant with extremely mediocre food. Here is what they make that is edible:

Lettuce wedges and baked potato's.

But order extra tomatoes for your lettuce wedge and red onion too, because they are stingy beyond telling with both.

If you think I'm exaggerating then please go to the Lone Star Steakhouse and Saloon, order your food and then come back to this site and write a review.

If you do this, please remember these words:

"I told you so."

Texas Roadhouse is WAY BETTER. I went there for lunch today with a friend of mine..our waitress was kinda friendly but messed up EVERYTHING. I ordered steak (medium well), a sald (with ranch) and the potato skins with NO onions...well the potato skins had onions, the steak was medium rare and the salad had french dressing...my friend ordered the chicken tenders and the chicken wasnt cooked all the way through. Now I realize not all of this is the waitresses fault but some of it was. And when I told her about the salad dressing she rolled her eyes and said I asked for french...I def did not because the ONLY salad dressing I eat is ranch.

GREAT food and customer service!. Great time every time I go here. I had to finally pay them back with my appreciation of the good food and friendly staff. I reccommend this place to everyone

Choose Outback, Ruby River, Texas Roadhouse or ANYWHERE over this place.. We sometimes go to Lone Star for business lunches or dinners, because it's the closest steakhouse to our office. We stopped going there a couple of years ago, due to inconsistent service and food.

We tried it again the other day. What a mistake that was!!

Our server was terrible. It took FOREVER to get anything. The bread, the appetizer, the drinks, the salads, the entrees... everything was soooooo sloooooow!

But the food was NOT worth the wait. The bread, salads and appetizers were okay, but the steaks were awful. Most of my associates were "satisfied" with their steaks, but didn't love them. Mine was like shoe leather. I ordered the Filet Mignon medium rare and there was not a spot of "pink" anywhere on my steak. We will NOT be going back anytime, soon or otherweise.

meh. My partner and I moved to the area a few months ago, and I'm a total foodie, so I feel the need to try every restaurant I see. We had a late breakfast at Hopper's one day (awesome, awesome, awesome....best service we've found, totally consistant, good food). We saw Lone Star behind it, and went to try it tonight.

The waitress was unbelievably nice and funny, I have to say. But she must have been frazzled or something b/c:

1: She assured my partner she'd bring bread when she dropped off our salads. No bread. And she dropped off our entrees...didn't seeem to even notice. (No one NEEDS bread, but it's like she totally forgot. Weird.)

2: She apologized for the wait, saying our entrees "took an hour". They really didn't, unless we're nuts. They took about 20 minutes, which is totally fine.

3: She took his drink to refill it and just....never came back til she dropped off the check. No drink.

Anyway, she was nice, but the service definately lacked.

The food.....bleh. My salad was fine, his soup was fine, though it lacked chicken.

Half of his steak was overdone and tough, mine was overdone and tasteless. My lobster tail was okay, though a bit salty (which I personally don't mind, but others might find offensive), his crab was good but cold. He said the mashed potatoes were great, my baked was fine.

All in all....we've also eaten at the Texas Roadhouse (better than this) and Ruby River Steakhouse (MUCH better than this). (We can't get over how inexpensive steaks are in this state........we're going to die of heart attacks from the cholesterol!)

Basically, I wouldn't recommend it when there are other restaurants better for the same price.

Oh, and the nice waitress gave us a free dessert to take home, which she actually offered at the beginning of the meal. We were confused by this nice gesture when nothing had happened to warrant it, but maybe she was just preparing us for later. It was nice though.

Worth visiting. Good wings for an appetizer. not hot, but flavorful. I love the potato soup when they have it. Good potatoes. I don't really remember the steak. Must not have been memorable, but I remember enjoying the meal. The menu is diverse enough to please most people.

Beware!!!!. Don't order the Prime Rib, it was not the best and honstly was quite disappointed in it. It was dry and had way to much smoke tast to it. You could not take the flavor of the meat at all. Everything else was delicious. My husband had the New York Strip and loved it.

horrible. this is absolutely the worst place to get a prime rib. Didn't taste like cardboard, more like a peice of charcole soaked in liquid smoke. The appetizers were bland, prepared and cooked poorly and, over-priced. if you want to pay $40 or $50 per head, for dinner, then go somewhere else.
