Brought in cat for checkup, took him away with broken jaw.
by AnimalLover10
I recently brought in my skiddish cat to receive a checkup with Dr. Moore. I am new to the Draper area and his facility is located within a very close proximity to my house. I brought in my 14 year old cat to have a lump on his side examined to see if it was dangerous. Immediately upon bringing my cat in, Dr. Moore proceded to forcefully grab his head to give him an injection. This terrified my cat who grew very upset, but not as upset as Dr. Moore. Dr. Moore grabbed the cat carrier he was in and whisked him away into the examing room next door where my son and I could not see him. After several long minutes of thrashing and hissing next door, Dr. Moore returned to tell me that my cat's jaw was broken as he tried to put a "leash" around his neck. He recommended our cat be taken immediately to a vet who was qualified to do surgery. Upon investigation of the room where this took place, there was bloodstains everywhere from our cat including on the walls. The "leash" that had been used on our cat was actually a "rabies collar" with a metal wire which is used to choke rabid dogs into submission. Dr. Moore admitted his negligence in the matter but refused to pay for the surgery that our cat needed. We left as he demanded that he be paid in full for his services. ($380-which included 180 in anesthetics that he said were used to calm our cat down, even though he was knocked unconscious by Dr. Moore when the rabies collar was on) I called a friend who does volunteer work with PETA and she said that Dr. Moore has had several reports filed against him for animal cruelty resulting from "personal problems in his past" (as mentioned in the second paragraph of the first review on this webpage). Myself as well as another woman whose dog suffered at the hands of Dr. Moore currently have a joint law suit pending against him and his business. We would like to strongly encourage anybody who seeks a vet to do the proper background investigation and research to find one with an exemplary reputation for safety and care.
- Pros: -
- Cons: Lack of experience with animals, resorts to cruel tactics

I feel very fortunate to have found Vet Chris Moore to oversee the care of our animals. Chris not only takes a genuine interest in the animals but what's in the best interest of their owners as well.
While I know Chris has gone thru some personally troubling times, I've never seen that interfere with his professional, caring service.
- Pros: Dedicated, professional and caring.
- Cons: None come to mind.
