Horrid Service. We made a reservation for 7:00. We showed up on time but were told there would be a "slight" wait. 7:30 rolls around and we're still not seated. However, another couple with a 7:30 reservation comes in and gets seated immediately. In front of us? Needless to say that was about all we could take. We complained and to their credit they gave us a free round of drinks and an appetizer. Now, on to dinner. Service was terrible. The waiter kept disappearing and was slow. While the tables around us were all given rolls, we had to ask for ours. Probably waited 10 minutes after sitting down before we got our drinks. Wife's steak was really good. My "spicy" volcano shrimp was as far from spicy as possible and, frankly, tasted like something I could have gotten at Johnny Corino's for significantly less money. No way I was going to send it back because I would probably have to wait another hour to get it fixed. Waiter took our leftovers to bag them but never brought them back. We ended up asking the bus boy to track them down for us. Overall, for $100 I would expect much better food (again, my wife's steak was really good though) and, definatlely, better service. There is no way we will be going back.

Good Service. I don't know why people left such bad reviews for this place. My husband and I were very wary about going to Christopher?s because of the horrible reviews it had been getting. We took a chance and went anyway. We had reservations for a Friday night at 6 p.m. It was not crowded at all. However many more people were seated around 7:30 p.m. We must have beaten the rush. As soon as my husband and I arrived we were greeted by the hostess and she was kind. She sat us promptly. A couple minutes later the server came by and introduced himself and told us about the specials. He was also very nice. He always was attentive and made sure our food was what we wanted and ordered and our glasses always were full. Also I heard in a bad review that they don't let you substitute. They sure do! My husband and I ordered the early bird special which is a great deal by the way. Each person gets an appetizer, soup of the day or salad, rolls, and entree which would be prime rib, top sirloin, salmon and something else, and dessert. It was very tasty. I didn't want the soup of the day so I asked if I could have the clam chowder instead and the server was more than happy to do that. We had shrimp cocktails for an appetizer and they were okay. The shrimp seemed a little tough. The soup was good, the entree was great (prime rib). My husband got the top sirloin and it was delicious as well. For dessert we had the vanilla bean creme brulee and it was good too but tasted a lot like pureed rice pudding. I would recommend this place for the early bird special, but I wouldn't pay the expensive prices after 6:30 p.m. This place did not have bad service. Christopher employees were nice and better than average when it came to customer service.

awful service. when told that it would be more than an hours wait for a table (on a thursday night) a friend and i snagged 2 seats at the bar. the bartender waited 15 minutes before even acknowledging us while everyone around us were waited on, even the woman who came after we did. i had to grab our own menus after 25 minutes as the bartender attempted to flirt with older women in order to obtain a larger tip (he was only in his 20's). at the end of the night he charged our cards and our reciepts reflected the correct amount ($25 for drinks and an appetizer),however when i came home and checked my account he had added a 20% tip on top of what i was supposed to pay ( kelan was his name). i called and complained and the manager acted like it was no big deal which leads me to believe that this happens all the time and many customers are being charged more without their realizing it. i am appalled that this behavior is acceptable

Poor customer service. Great food, great waiter service, but when it came to customer service...poor at best. My wife and I used $63 (excluding tax & drinks) out of a $75 city deals coupon. Christopher?s would not give a credit or gift card for the remaining $12 that was unused. No credit for what we had already purchased to get us back in for dinner again. User beware....use the entire coupon amount or lose out!

Best seafood I've had - period. I travel often to many larger cities in the Western United States. Recently I had the privilage of dining at Christopher's with my wife and some business associates. I ordered the Hawaiian spearfish and my wife had the sockeye salmon. I had ordered spearfish in Long Beach a few weeks back and it was pretty good. The spearfish I had at Christopher's was hands down the best I've ever had. Perfectly cooked and perfectly paired with pineapple salsa. I tasted my wife's and it was terrific as well.

My other guests were just as impressed - I will be back on a regular basis!

Christopher's Is Back Baby!. On July 15th, my husband took us out for a fun evening. We had not dined at Christophers in over two years and I was a bit hesitant not knowing what we would encounter. The minute we sat down however our fears were put at ease by a very professional and attentive server. She explained about their steaks and offered her recommendations. My husband ordered the Filet Mignon and I had the New York Strip. The meals were prepared to perfection and this may be the best New York Strip I have ever had. Our server explained their plans to add daily lunch and dinner specials for those who are watching their pennies. A must if you are attending anything downtown, especially a Jazz game or the Opera/Symphony. Will definitely recommend to friends and family and hope to return there again soon.

Apparenlty for Businessmen only!. We had occasion to spend a night at the Peery Hotel, and in as much as the steakhouse is in the same building, we went in for breakfast. Clearly, they want to serve business people only. We were seated, pointed at the buffet, never given water, never a coffee refill, no bowels for cereal, not a single check back to see if we we doing okay, just a quick check with a tip included. But then three business men were seated next to us. Two servers were all over them. Water, plenty of coffee, and hovering around to make certain they were satisfied. I rather think we could have walked out without paying the bill and no one would have noticed!

Terrible Customer Service. Terrible Experience

November 30th was my wife?s birthday and I thought your restaurant would be a great place to spend it. I had purchased $40 worth of gift certificates online. They were pay $10 and get $25 off each visit. I would have come back 4 times in the next year. What a deal for you guys. I thought they were a great deal.

When we sat down I presented the coupon and your server said you do not take those anymore. She said that you never gave that site permission to sale those and you could not redeem them. You can only guess my disappointment.

I asked to speak to the manager. He informed me of the same thing. I understood the situation, but asked if there was anything he could do for us. He said that there was not. I said so, you guys really don?t care about the customer do you? He said I am sorry sir, there is just nothing that I can do. After about 5 minutes of discussing the situation, he offered me a desert. What a joke! I can not believe you guys would insult me with a desert.

I understand you are trying to get your name off the site and are having some difficultly. Why take it out on your customers! I am not the person you have the problem with, but am the one who has to suffer. What a great company!

An excellent lunch value.. Being new to the "downtown" lunch scene I have been doing some searching to find my favorite places to eat.

I was really surprised when I found Christopher's Seafood and Steakhouse had such an excellent, reasonably priced lunch menu My favorite so far is the Chicken, Mushroom and Swiss Sandwich(a whole chicken breast), and although it looks excellent I have not had enough appetite to eat their 1/2 lb hamburger, an office mate had one and it looked really good.

From its elegant appearance I thought it would be a better place to eat when I had customers so I could put it on an expense account, but it is really reasonably priced. I may just have to work late and try them for dinner soon.

Good, slow, can be busy. Best deals are their early menu as mentioned elsewhere. Best service is early too. Finally a place you can get real Prime beef, not choice. seafood is fresher than normally found in the area. Not particularly inventive, but focuses on the straightforward surf and turf.
